Police Misconduct Lawyer In Toronto
We all make mistakes on the job, but when your job has the power to deny someone else their freedom, mistakes cannot be tolerated.
Every person living in Ontario, without exception, has certain rights. The right to be assumed innocent until proven guilty, the right to a fair trial, and the right to be free of discrimination based on background, race or gender.
The most important thing is to know is that, even if you’re questioned by police or placed under arrest, you still have rights.
For example, if arrested, you have the right to know why. You also have the right to remain silent. The police must offer you an opportunity call your own lawyer. They are not allowed to detain you without a reason, and if you ask why, you have the right to an answer.
I have seen far too many people in Toronto pay the price of police misconduct, sometimes with years of their lives. Whether it’s a technical omission at trial, a case of police brutality, or a subtle but consistent pattern of discrimination, my job is to make sure that police officers who make these mistakes are held accountable for their actions.
I represent police misconduct cases that happened during the arrest and trail, and I’ve also represented victims of police misconduct while serving their sentences. If your constitutional rights have been disrespected by those we trust to uphold the law, call me. You deserve better.
The bottom line is that we all deserve equality in the eyes of the law.
